How Interest is Credited – Indexed Strategies

Annual Point-to-Point with Participation Rate (Continued)

Some simple examples:

Positive Index Change

If the index change for the term equals 8% and the Participation Rate equals 50%, then the interest rate for the term will be 8% X 0.50 = 4%. In this scenario, the value of the Indexed Account will increase 4% on the Contract Anniversary Date. For example, an Indexed Account with $10,000 will receive $400 in credited interest.

Negative Index Change

If the index change for the term is -8%, then the interest credited into the Indexed Account will be 0%.
